Missions - The all-new Mission mode drops you into seven levels filled with a total of 63 different challenges, each with its own unique task. There are ten Shines available at once, and if your opponents have more than you, you'll need to try and knock them out with an item to get their shine. In Shine Runners, you'll race past your opponents, trying to collect Shines, which are scattered throughout the stage. You have five balloons in total, and once all of them are gone, you lose (unless your opponents run out of balloons first. In Balloon Battle, you'll take on your opponents, blowing up balloons by actually stopping your kart and blowing into the Mic as you play. Like Versus mode, you have the ability to adjust multiple settings related to the gameplay. Play on one of six stages on one of two different modes - Balloon Battle and Shine Runners, both very addictive and fun. Battle - Originally, it was only possible to play Battle mode against human opponents, but the game has been expanded to include battle mode, which is very nice. A simple VS mode game can be turned into a fun, competitive match with these features. A nice addition to this is the ability to tinker with most of the settings, including computer difficulty, selection of tracks, and more. Versus - Here is the place where you can just have any casual race against the computers. However, you can only save one ghost per track, which is disappointing as it would have been nice to focus your efforts on one track and then watch your ghosts to see where you could improve. Note that when transferring ghosts, you automatically overwrite your ghost for that particular track, regardless of which one is better. You can save up to 32 of your ghosts and 10 of your friends. If you set a decent record, you may unlock a staff ghost, and when activated, you can try and beat the staff time. You get one Mushroom per race - try to use it on a lap that you plan on setting the lap record for. Race through any track at top speeds against your ghost, or if you and a friend have a DS, trade ghosts and try to beat each other. Time Trials - As you might expect, Time Trials is where you can test yourself to the limit. If you focus your efforts on preventing that player from constantly finishing behind or ahead of you, you'll have a much easier time with the Grand Prix. Here's how the points are distributed: 1st - 10 Points 5th - 3 Points 2nd - 8 Points 6th - 2 Points 3rd - 6 Points 7th - 1 Point 4th - 4 Points 8th - 0 Points Generally, when playing, there will always be one or two randomly selected 'bullies', who will excel more than the other CPU, providing you with the main challenge and preventing you from gliding into first place every time. To unlock a development team ghost racer, beat the following time for the circuit._ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ / |/ /_ _(_)_ / //_/_ _/ /_ / _ \/ _/ / /|_/ / _ `/ _/ / _ \ / ,|_| 1/3||2nd | |-| |#1 | Race |#2 Map Of | Standings ->|#3 Track | |#4 | | | |_| When completing races, your points are added based on what position you came in. Wait for someone to come and throw the bomb forward. If you get a bomb, move back to the edge. Since you're always sitting where the box is, your stock of supplies will never run out. If you time it right, you should hit them. If you have a shell, wait for someone to come along, and let the shell go. If you get a banana or box, throw it forward. Go to the corner and sit where the box is just facing the corner of the house. On the outside of the house there are for corners with ? boxes on them. watch the bottom screen and wait until someone goes in the right pipe. Anyone who goes through the pipe will get hurt. When you come out of a pipe and have a box or banana, lay it as soon as you hit the ground. In levels Pipe plaza and twilight house, there are places where you are pretty much guaranteed to hit the other characters.
